iPhone 4S to be Launched in India this November or December ?

iPhone 4S has been officially launched in 7 countries with multiple carriers as of yesterday with an overwhelming response from the customers all over the world and was sold out on the pre-orders for all the carriers  in US like Sprint,Verizon and AT&T.

Here’s the good news for all the indian users who are eagerly waiting to get their hands on with this beast powered by A5 processor and an upgraded hardware with double the performance than its predecessor.According to the reports by BGR  a source which is a credible one,has been right for most of its earlier breaking news about the iPhone release in the past in india has tipped them with the release dates for the iPhone 4S in india, said that the phone would eventually hit the indian markets by next month i.e november or at most the last month of the year. That is the iPhone4S would probably hit the indian shores by the end of this year.

According to the reports both Airtel and Aircel are already preparing for the launch with a hint of another carrier being in the hunt for the same.As we have already seen that apple launched the iPad 2 just a few months after the US launch in india, apple is taking an interest in the Indian markets to grab the marketshare which is currently populated with some local brands and the likes of samsung and htc selling cheap android phones in india.

[Download Now] iOS5 Golden Master for iPhone,iPad and iPod Touches

Yesterday iPhone 4S was announced and in that event we also got news about the iOS update for all the iDevices which will be rolled out by Apple on 13th October. So all those who want to get hold of the release before hand download the Golden Master Final Build of iOS 5 from the following sources.

iPhone 4S instead of iPhone 5 was shown in iTunes beta

It seems there is a name change for an upcoming version of the iPhone. The “iPhone 4S” was found in  the info.plist file of the Mobile device bundle that was included with the new beta release of iTunes. That file contains descriptions of a black and white iPhone 4S can be found that look identical to the current version of the iPhone.

Apple’s Android competitors outshine the iPhone in the camera resolution and screen size department.  Apple’s retina display is smaller than many slab Android phones but often approaches or beats them in resolution. Since Apple is  going with a larger screen, 8-megapixel camera and full 1080p video recording, it’ll need more horsepower to support all of them. The bigger screen, in particular, will also demand more battery power. Hence Apple’s been very careful about battery life (it’s why it fought so long and hard against multi-tasking) and it may have to increase battery size and capacity to support a larger retina screen.

iPhone 5 Prices And Specs Leaked along with the Cheaper iPhone Prices ?

Earlier today we reported about some of the leaked pictures of the upcoming cheap iPhone devices which are ready for the launch and which we can expect to be revealed later this week.

Now another rumor surfaced in the iPhone front, allegedly there has been an accidental listing of the upcoming iPhones the iPhone 5 and the cheaper version of iPhone 5 being spotted on a website with price tag and features of both the phones. As spotted earlier by TUAW supposedly the iPhone 5 32GB version is priced at USD 639.99(regular price of USD699.99) with specifications listed as iPhone 5 with 4″Display,8 MegaPixel Camera and 4G support spotted on the Cincinnati belle website.

While the Cheap iPhone 4 rumor which is floating around the web has been listed as a iPhone 4S  with specifications like 3.5″ display,A5 processor and a 5 megapixel camera   and 16 GB of memory, with regular price tag as USD400 but discounted price tag of USD99.99.

Though for both the listings of the phones the images were missing ,it’ll be lot clear by tomorrow about the device specifications and the pricing details, stay tuned for the iPhone 5 scoop.

Cheap iPhone 4 pics leaked

According to claims made by Gizmodo the Foxconn factory is fabricating iPhones in full swing in Brazil. The products are basically ready to be delivered, as shown in these pictures achieved with exclusivity. These are  new models that have less capacity and will be cheaper. The codename of iPhone 4 is N90. Although in the upper-left corner of the pic below you can see “N90A” for this  device which was rejected possibly for some minor reason. These devices will most probably replace the iPhone 3GS and will sports a stripped down version of the existing iPhone 4 with lesser memory(8GB).

We will know of  more details on Tuesday, when Apple will present the new device, which will be quite a rejuvenated  iPhone 5 or an iPhone “4S”. One way or another, it is certain that it will  have a new 8MP camera and processor A5 of the iPad 2.

Review:
Priced at $1.99, it might not be appealing to all the consumers who are new to Colloquy’s Mac IRC Client, to go ahead and buy it.
Other than that, this app is the best IRC client out there.

My Rating: ★★★★☆

Cydia updated to 1.1.2

Jay Freeman (@saurik) has released a new version of Cydia today: Cydia 1.1.2. There was no changelog to view but the assumption is that it includes some bug fixes and overall speed improvements.

You can install Cydia 1.1.2 in the following ways:

  • SSH
  • iFile

Whichever method you want to use is your preference: Cydia 1.1.2 can be downloaded from here[Mirror]

Here’s a guide on how to install Cydia:
iFile method:

1. Download Cydia 1.1.2

2. Use iFile and UNARCHIVE the folder

3. Open the Cydia 1.1.2 Folder and COPY the ‘cydia_1.1.2_iphoneos-arm.deb’ file

4. Go to: /var/root/Media and PASTE the cydia deb file here

5. Now go to: /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall and PASTE the Cydia deb file here, too.

***you might have to create the Cydia and AutoInstall folders. If so, pay attention to the capitalization! You might even need to create the Media folder if it isn’t inside the /var/root/ folder***

6. Go back to the /var/root/Media folder and TAP on the Cydia deb file

7. INSTALL the Cydia deb file

8. Now REBOOT your phone.

9. You should now have Cydia!

SSH Method:

1. Follow iFile method till step 5 using WinSCP or your SSH client

2. Run this command
dpkg -i cydia_1.1.2_iphoneos-arm.deb

3. That’s it!

There was no changelog to view but the assumption is that it includes some bug fixes and overall speed improvements. Probably getting ready for iOS 5.

[Working] Gevey Turbo SIM for iOS 5 Beta 2 | The Phone Blog Exclusive

There have been some confusing and contradictory statements by the famous jailbreakers, their unofficial public face – @veeence and many forums and blogs online.
Every where I search, it says that Beta 2 is Gevey proof. Yes it does work, doesn’t matter whether you jailbreak or not. In this post, you’ll get to know the TRUTH about Gevey Unlock and a guide to make it run on iOS 5 Beta 2 :)

I’ve tried and tested Gevey Turbo SIM on both iOS 5 Beta 1 & 2, and here some pointers:

  • Gevey Turbo SIM works fine if you are running iOS 5 Beta 1
  • If you upgrade to Beta 2 by the usual iTunes process, then Gevey will stop working
  • Upgrade using sn0wbreeze 2.8 (Windows only) [Download Link] to Beta 2, and your baseband will be preserved. That way, Gevey will work
  • sn0wbreeze will give your phone a tethered jailbreak.
–If you reboot without a computer available, you’ll lose the jailbreak. Hence Cydia and Cydia apps will crash. Gevey works
–If you reboot using iBooty on a computer (hence tethered boot), then jailbroken apps will work. BUT, Gevey might not work immediately. Tethered reboot a couple of times and it will work
  • You can always downgrade from Beta 1 or Beta 2 back to iOS 4.3.3 and it will automatically downgrade your baseband version also, hence making Gevey work again on 4.3.3

[Tutorial to make Gevey work on iOS 5 Beta 2]:

  1. Download sn0wbreeze 2.8 (Windows only) [Download Link]
  2. Drag n Drop iOS 5 beta 2 ipsw file
  3. You can choose “Baseband Preservation Mode” and go on upgrading without jailbreaking. Jump to step 5
  4. Select “Simple Mode” to start your process with jailbreaking + upgrading to iOS 5 Beta 2 without upgrading Baseband
  5. It’ll take some time and export a custom ipsw named “sn0wbreeze_iPhone 4-5.0b2.ipsw”
  6. Click on “Run iReb” to open iTunes so that you can use that ipsw to install on your iPhone 4
  7. That’s it!

If you have any queries regarding this issue, then please drop down a comment, and I’ll get back to you.

(I currently don’t have screenshots to show it to you, but rest assured they work. I was the 1st one to tip it to veeence who then tweeted that “some people are reporting that Gevey works on Beta 2″)

(The tweet where I mentioned that Gevey doesn’t work with tethered boot, but shortly after, it worked.)
